I have to disagree with the critic's crapola rating here. These are about the greasiest chips around, but I've found that grease is pretty damn good. (Have you had real mexican food before?) Salsa is not great so in a pinch it'll do, but just go to El Mercado for your more 'mainstream' chips/salsa
Torchy's chips are the worst in town: the greasiest I've ever had. Why not leave them dry and simply let me dip them in vegetable oil?
Pair the chips with their rojo salsa and you've got nothing you want to eat. This is by far the blandest salsa I've ever had. There wasn't even a hint of heat. I really hope Torchy's accidentally forgot the jalapenos and garlic. Unfortunately I will never order the salsa again to find out.
Stick with their tacos. They're delicious.
It's hard to believe that Torchy's serves this. Greasy chips. Bland red salsa. And this is not the first time. How do you mess up chips and salsa? I wish I could rate it zero. Deep fry some cardboard and dip it in water and that's roughly the flavor. Swayze loves 'em. Taco kryptonite to me. Pairs well with a Marlboro light and a tongue scraper.
