Sarahb's right on...this crisp calamari appetizer at North is light and bouncy. The addition of the grilled lemons and fresh arugula makes all of the difference - very innovative. Paired with a glass of crisp white wine, who needs to order anything else? Only reason this dish doesn't get a dishola in my book is because the night we tried it, the calamari were slightly overcooked, lending a bit of a chewy texture to the squid. But I would not hesitate to recommend - or order - this dish again!
Probably the best calamari that I've had. I'm certain it's in the top 3- ever. It had very light, likely Japanese style breading and was really tender and good chewy- not at all bouncy. The arugula and lemons made it way lighter than a fried appetizer normally comes off- so you could almost convince yourself it was more like a salad. This appetizer was by far my favorite part of the meal, and the space and ice tea are really good too. I look forward to being there in the summer when they fling open the big glass walls.
