As you can see from the photo, this nutella torte was just too good to stop and photograph. My husband and I spoon-jousted for the first bite.
This is not the most richly, deeply satisfying chocolate torte that will ever slip across your tongue, but it's pretty damn good. Two things account for this: first, it's not cloyingly sweet the way some warm chocolate tortes can be. It graciously sits on the plate, allowing the homemade whipped cream and tart raspberry sauce to accentuate its nutty essence.
Second, how can you not love the taste of Nutella? For me, it evokes memories of endless summer days on the coast of Brittany, well before Nutella ever made the long voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, but that's a whole other food tale...
