Is this the best tofu (Pad) Kee Mao (they leave the "Pad" off the name on their menu) in Seattle? No. The spiciness – even at a mid-level of three out of five stars – makes it hard to discern the other flavors. It’s a blocky, basic kind of approach to Pad Kee Mao. BUT, you know how sometimes you might just actually crave a fast food hamburger instead of some kobe beef patty with a tomato reduction? If you’re in the Wedgewood neighborhood or University area, and you just want something filling, spicy and uncomplicated, you probably won’t be dissatisfied with the Pad Kee Mao you get from Krua. Their version normally comes with my nemesis, baby corn, so I ask them to leave that out and add extra vegetables. If you really don’t like heat, you might want to ask for a zero, if that’s even possible; their three stars are much spicier than the other three star dishes I’ve had at other places.
