    This is Uchi at its best -- a dish comprised of a simple, exquisite combination of spicy scallop and avocado. The sushi was a gift to my husband and me as we waited for our tempura course. Perhaps the tempura took ten minutes longer than it usually does...but who was counting? Clearly, our sous-chef (we were eating at the bar), who bowed apologetically and handed us the hotate. "I am sorry for the delay," he said. "You like scallops?"
    It wasn't something we'd planned on ordering, but now it's on our "Uchi must-eat" list. The raw scallop next to the avocado is a stroke of genius - both are smooth, creamy, and decadently delicious. And wrapped in seaweed and sprinkled with black sesame seeds, the scallop and avocado need nothing more, nothing less. The dish is perfect as it is.

    This little treat off the Uchi Sushi and Sashimi menu is the most tender scallop which in some amazing way envelops a bit of avocado and a creamy spicy loveliness. I could eat a million of these.
