As soon as we arrived in Honolulu for a family reunion, my mother's first request was to get a custard pie from Lee's Bakery. She has tried custard desserts all over the world and stated "nothing else compares" and was she right. It was smooth, rich and creamy. Yummy! ...or as they say in Hawaii "ONO"!!

I love custard pie, and this is the best one I've had so far! It's very custardy/eggy, not watery, not too sweet, but very smooth. The crust is also great, it's thick enough to hold it's own texture and flavor with the filling. It's also the best if you can catch it warm straight from their ovens. YUM! If you need several or want to get one in the afternoon, be sure to call and reserve your pies, they run out fairly quickly. But they do make them for the better part of the day, so you might be lucky enough to wait a bit and get a warm one!
