I still miss the original Henry's which closed after massive damage suffered during the 1989 earthquake. It was always a learning experience to sit on stools at the restaurant's Formica-topped counter and watch great chefs toss spicy treasures into the fire-flamed woks. This newer, larger venue lacks the stools, the intimacy and charm of the old site -- but still features very good food.
I use Henry's indispensable cookbook at home almost weekly -- and I never tire of stopping by the restaurant for the cold, crunchy bean sprout salad (topped with a chili-spiced peanut dressing) and a plate of deep-fried, green onion stuffed pancakes.
