hi i was looking at this page and i noticed that you called this place El pollo Regio when in fact it should be el pollo rico. its a big mistake because personally i believe that el pollo rico is 10 times as good as what it used to be, the so-called el pollo regio. and it seem as if its getting better everytime i go there. a must-go place to eat and an asset to our community. i personally believe that the grilled chicken is by far the best item on the menu and a worth-while place to visit and doesnt hurt your wallet much either.

Thanks for the challenge, Susy. I've had El Pollo Regio on my "must-try" list since you first wrote about it - and am excited to report that I finally tried it.
Having lived in Mexico City for a couple of years, I can tell you that this is the real deal -right down to the greasy butcher paper and the roasted onion with which the chicken is served. And the pollo was delicious! Tender, full of flavor, slightly smoky (from the coals it's roasted over, no doubt).
Oh, but that salsa crema you raved about; ay caramba, it is muy, pero muy, picante! Are we talking the same green crema salsa? If so, you must have some really strong heat protectors on your tongue, because one tiny taste of this salsa had me running to the sink to get agua to boca.
I also included a shot of the rice and beans. I'd give both of them an 8 as well. Very "Mexico" authentic, however, there were some unidentified slimy meat things floating around in my beans that gave me pause, if but for a moment. I gently scooped around them, ladling the beans on top of rice - all swaddled in a tortilla - with bits of shredded chicken on top. Hmmm, buen provecho!

    This is a great review!

I want to challenge a couple dishers out there to go try this place. It's drive-through. Fast, already packed chicken, wrapped in butcher paper with a roasted onion, sides of rice and beans, tortillas and the most wonderful green crema salsa I've ever had.

Are my tastebuds okay? What do y'all think? I think it's delicioso y barato!

    Buen provecho.
