We brought my Dad here on Father's Day - a perfectly gorgeous Virginia day. Hunter's Head is one of my favorite places to eat (and drink) when I'm in Middleburg/Upperville, Virginia.
You've gotta love the eatery's name; in the heart of fox-hunting country, you're eating at an old English-like pub with pasty hunter's heads hung along the walls (see photo).
The food is generally solid, and sometimes it even shines.
This time, I ordered a salmon and bacon sandwich with thick-cut fries. Maybe a little too generous with the mayo, but who could complain?
We sat outside on the sun-drenched patio, drank wine, laughed, and caught up with our Dad all afternoon.
