This crispy shrimp from Shanghai garden is a happy dish. Not sure if it's the color... or all of the little squiggly things coming out of the shrimp...or the bright orange sweet sauce, but all put together, it's the kind of dish that puts a smile on your face.
I probably wouldn't eat a huge plate of these crunchy, sweet shrimp (too much coating...a little too sweet), but combined with a smorgasbord of other Chinese plates, they are a bright accompaniment.
