I love molasses cookies, so I always have to try them if a bakery carries them. This one doesn't turn me on at all. My husband thinks it's great, so my first thought is that since I ate a lemon cupcake before the cookie maybe the lemon messed up my taste buds. I'm going to give this cookie another try, but for now I must say there is a very strange chemical taste in this cookie. The molasses flavor is great, but on the second or third chew something starts tasting funny. I can't quite put my finger on it.
I challenge you to try this cookie too and praise it if you feel I've been unfair. Quite honestly this cookie probably deserves a 3 or 4, but the bakeshop is too cute, so the shop scored extra points.
