First, let me say that this dish isn't BAD, I just didn't enjoy it myself. Firstly, the sauce was a little too salty and heavy (yet watery) for my taste. Secondly, the shrimp were served over a bed of chopped lettuce that was warm and limp due to the sauce. On another day that may be more appetizing to me, but I just don't really enjoy warm shredded lettuce, especially when I try to avoid shredded lettuce in general. The presentation was beautiful and the shrimp were okay in texture, I just wasn't moved by the overall experience of this dish. There was a hint of ginger flavor, but it really wasn't like any Thai ginger shrimp I have experienced, so I was a bit let down. I would have enjoyed a few sauteed veggies thrown in with the shrimp to create a fuller meal.
