I agree that it is a satisfying dish.
Sometimes when I want an elegant kick I go to Wink for their mac and cheese with TRUFFLES...discounted at happy hour! -

This is great comfort food. Hyde Park uses two cheeses, cheddar and Romano, that are perfectly creamy and smooth. The consistency of the cheese sauce is perfect: creamy enough to tuck itself inside of individual pieces of macaroni, but thick enough not to drip. I also enjoy the presentation. You get it in a little ceramic crock and it's topped with golden, toasted bread crumbs.
This appears as a side on Hyde Park's menu, but I like to get it as part of a meal--usually with a small salad or tamales.
