I really enjoy the Tibbs at Aster's. Granted, you don't have a whole lot of choices for Ethiopian food in Austin, Texas, but this dish is delicious. I'm never quite sure what to order, but I am quite satisfied with my choice on this one. Tasty beef is cubed and sautéed in kibe (Ethiopian clarified butter), and seasoned with onions, tomatoes, green & black peppers and unique traditional spices. It is served with a cabbage, a lentil, and another green side on top of a piece of injera (Ethiopian bread). My favorite part about the dish is the flavor of the spices on the meat. This dish is less spicy than some of the others. The meat is chunky and not tender, but tender enough to enjoy. Tearing off the bread and picking up the food with my hands is alway fun too. This is a solid meal. Very tasty and probably a good starter dish for someone who's never had Ethiopian before.
