For our first Food Safari, we headed out to one of the epicenters of American Chinese-food heaven - Chinatown, San Francisco - in search of the famous BBQ Pork Bun. Apparently the baked and glazed variety is purely an American concoction, but born of the traditional Cantonese dish where soft, sweet barbecued pork is stuffed into a pocket of soft dough and steamed. Ultimately, we all preferred the traditional variety to the glazed ones at most of our stops, but we'll take Pork Buns any way we can get them.
