We went to a holiday part at Clay Pit, too stuffed from earlier parties to think about partaking of the buffet. But then I saw khuroosh-y-tursh. This is among the best dishes in the city...I had to eat some more.

DW said this looked like the dish for me---my favorite flavors all together: restrained, but spicy dijon mustard, impetuous argula, strident radichio, spritely capers, laced with lusciously dark parmigiano reggiano and olive oil. Not to mention the perfectly-prepared carpaccio itself. All the bright and assertive flavors played their role against an unctuous, perfect, pink backdrop. The presentation was beautiful (sorry about the picture) and the result was light and full of all those wonderful flavors.

This was darn good. The crust was perfectly executed, the arugula wilted enough to feel cooked, but without the life cooked out of it, the lardo glistening like little smokey gems. (Although now I have to try the prosciutto pizza...so I guess we have to go back.) I'm not giving it the dishola based on the fact that it really isn't a centerpiece-of-the-meal kind of dish. Rather, it is like a supremely confident character-actor in a supporting roll who makes certain scenes of the movie. Or a member of an ensemble cast, which is probably a better way to describe Enoteca's menu, anyways.

Fair enough. People say that those words have become a verbal tick of mine, but they describe this tasty, well prepared dish. I had mine with tofu, which came in thick, juicy slices. The sauce tasted like red and coconut---which I guess is why it is called red curry. (I kind of wish I had asked for it spicier). The vegetables were cooked just right, and the rice was great. I'm thinking I need to go back and find a sauce that better tickles my fancy.
