i think there's a possum outside my window. no- sorry - it's definitely an armadillo, based on the shuffling sound and slower-than-possum speed. not going to look. not going to look. oh, i came here for the food, that's right. food is my life. sfc is my gig. that's about it.

Foodie Fetishes

• Recommended Food Safari: my former hood, the west village. having lived there for the past 7 years, i became intimately acquainted with all the little thimble-sized restaurants and watering holes (sigh). when asked if i miss nyc, i say, yep. my block. i lived on west fourth and cornelia st. above a questionable shop...my folks used to look the other way whenever they'd visit. on my block were mario batali's po, sushi samba, murray's cheese shop on bleecker, and a tiny, farmhouse-style store called home, my very favorite, where i was bitten by the "local food" bug. just blocks away were the spotted pig, babbo and my other fave, dan barber's famed blue hill.
