Foodie Fetishes

  • Recommended Food Safari: London- I would begin with coffee at Mammoth Coffee-scones and jam with local whole milk. I would purchase some cheese from the Neal’s Yard Dairy shop to munch on as I am wondering through the city. My cheese would be Jamie Montgomery’s Cheddar and the new raw milk blue Stichelton or any recommendation from the talented staff, as they know which cheeses are tasting the best at the moment. Lunch would be a cheese sandwich from William Oglethorpe’s stall at the Borough Market –it is an unbelievable thing to have the best cheese on a classic comfort food sandwich! This would be followed by stroll along the Thames as you are only a few blocks from the river. I would relax in the afternoon with a pastry at Maison Bertaux and later prepare for the evening with a pint at The Angel Pub. I would dinner at the Anchor and Hope. They support local growers and everything is good. My favorite meals are designed for the entire table, great selection of the freshest food of the day! Now that is a really enjoyable food day in a truly historic city that many seem to forget! If I could have one more food experience-New Zealand, I would love to check out the food combinations from this island country, from sea to mountains and the rainforest in between the sweet and savory flavors would be a delight (I love the wines and the spirit of the people I have met from this island).
  • And to Drink: Wine-Ridge Monte Bello-I love the mouthfeel Beer-North Coast Beers-great brewmaster and super with food Aperitif-Villa Massa Limoncello-Sergio’s grandmother’s recipe with local Sorrento Lemons Spirits-Belvedere Martini up, very dry and very dirty-perfect end to a delicious day If I can chose only one, it would be difficult and it would probably be the Belvedere

  • Favorite Cuisine: Mexican and Italian are my fav foods Really fresh, clean tasting products of any style work for me
  • Last Meal Request: Mt. Tam Organic Triple Crème Cheese produced by Cowgirl Creamery It is the essence of the California lifestyle, deliciously creamy with the history of the Marin Organics being the first local organic certifier and the single herd milk from Strauss Family Farm married with the vision and mission of Sue Conley and Peg Smith. I taste the history and feel the passion that created this product. Fresh figs from the Alexander Valley as an accoutrement to top it off! It has been a great life!
  • Favorite Eating Town: New York City is my favorite food town
