The menu said "Alaskan Halibut with Buttermilk Ricotta, Bocorones, Romaine Salad, Potato Fondant & Caviar" (no price). I said, "friggin' awesome!" The check for this incredible dish (served at the bar), a half dozen oysters, one glass of wine and tip totalled out at ninety-seven bucks. I said, "ouch!" PS: I believe Bocorones are whiting -- a little fish from Spain. PPSS: I was hungry an hour later.

The menu at XYZ offers "poached eggs on toasted brioche with chive hollandaise, a choice of smoked salmon, niman ham or sautéed spinach" -- I took the waiter's advice and ordered the dish with both ham AND spinach. This was a nice combination, but the dish as a whole didn't knock me out. The potatoes served alongside the eggs were bland and the promised "chive hollandaise" was good and you could see a few flecks of chives -- but they didn't provide any flavor to the sauce...

Offered on the menu as an appetizer -- probably because it's on the rich/fattening side -- a half order of Ravioli di Zucca at Pasta Pomodoro is comprised of roasted butternut squash ravioli tossed with parmesan cheese, brown butter, fresh sage and crumbled amaretti cookies.
