Central Market fails to disappoint, and this panini from their cafe is a case in point. Fresh smoked turkey breast layered atop Havarti cheese, thin slices of tomato, lettuce, and a generous pesto spread makes for a perfect lunch. The pressed bread tastes fresh and crunchy. The sandwich comes with your choice of fries, fruit, or a green salad, and though it is the least healthy option, I must recommend CM's fries - they are crisp and delicious!

It's the age old question: how much do you love your bacon? Enough to sprinkle it atop your spinach salad? Sure. Enough to tuck it into your BLT? Definitely. Enough to sneak it into a Turkey Club? Oh yeah, baby. Enough to make bacon-chocolate ice cream? Um....Not so much. I give Mars points for exploring the savory side of sweet, but this time, they took it a tad too far. Rather than elevate the flavor of the ice cream OR the bacon, this bacony-chocolatey concoction debased the taste of both. The dry banana cake didn't do much to redeem the dish, although the bananas drizzled with caramel were divine.

These cookies are a terrific gift - send them to someone who aced a final exam...learned that they got a promotion...or just broke up with their boyfriend. They will help lift you out of a depression, or make your good mood even better. I personally love the M&M and snickerdoodle flavors, but I agree with the previous reviewers - they are all good. I recommend eating them with a big glass of cold milk, or if you want to be particularly decadent, order a pint of vanilla ice cream on the side!

This pita plate is a standout dish, dressed with warm feta, tomatoes, capers, anchovy, peppers, and olives. It's a small symphony of tastes that plays out across your palate - salty and tangy flavors usher in the creaminess of warm feta and a sudden burst of sweetness from a cherry tomato. A lush, colorful panoply, like the Greek islands themselves.

There's a reason New York Magazine has showcased Kefi 4 or 5 times recently - it's tasty, and a wonderful value for the price. Take the mussels dish. For $6.95, you get an authentic Greek plate of fresh mussels, creamy feta, gigante beans (otherwise known as giant butterbeans), and a buttery, white wine broth so toothsome, you'll be tempted to use all of your pita break to soak it up. Save the pita for the feta sto fourno (more on that shortly), and go ahead and drink the broth straight from the bowl. There is no shame in savoring every last drop at Kefi.
