These fries are hot out of the fryer, crisp, and gently salted. If that doesn't convince you to order them on your next trip to GoodBurger, how about the fact that eatery has been cooking their fries in zero trans-fat canola oil well before it became New York City law?

My friend Laz and I had walked through Central Park that morning, developing quite an appetite. We were meeting my Mom and sister in midtown, on the East side. Where to go for lunch? Our stomachs rumbled. Where to go??? So happy we found GoodBurger (thanks Stirling)! This place is a little NYC gem. The cheeseburger is made from certified premium Hereford beef that has been naturally and humanely raised in the U.S. from small family-run farms. The patty is hand cut and ground, and grilled to order - and it is delicious. Pickles, tomatoes, crunchy lettuce, not too much mayo, mustard, and ketchup, and a nice toasty bun. Yum! And all for $6.75! P.S. I ordered a side of fresh-made cole slaw for $1.50. I highly recommend it as well.

This molasses glazed, grass-fed grilled pork chop was a little too dry and tough for my taste. The borlotti bean ragout tasted strongly of bacon. I felt like the dish needed more to balance it - whether it was a side of polenta, cous-cous, or a beautiful green salad. The "summer market greens" mentioned on the menu consisted of a sprig of basil.

Mighty Fine does it again! This time in the form of a chopped chili dog, ingeniously filled with 100% pure all-natural chuck beef AND chopped dog. I'd never had a dog like it, and I definitely enjoyed it. You can ask for it loaded with onions, tomatoes and shredded lettuce, as well as add cheese for an extra 50 cents. Kind of reminded me of a hot dog crossed with a taco. And as you might expect, it was mighty fine.

I love the presentation of this turkey sandwich from Hot Mama's Espresso, the funky coffee shop on East Sixth (with a lovely garden right outside). The bread is gently toasted and lined with an olive tapenade, then layered with turkey and tomato. Cucumber drizzled with a bit of yogurt is piled atop the sandwich, adding just the right crunchy, cooling, touch. The sandwich is served with salty tortilla chips and a side of salsa. The only reason this sammy doesn't get a 10 in my book is...well, the turkey. This may sound ultra-picky, but I'd prefer a smoked, higher quality turkey - this one tastes overly processed.
