"The fish...It's like buttah..." (You have to say it in a Brooklyn accent.) First of all, the bagel is nothing to complain about, and it's always perfectly toasted. Secondly, the cream cheese is right...It's tangy and spreadable and 100% fat-full. The fish is so perfect that you can't believe you're eating it in a diner, unless you understand how awesome Brooklyn diners can be. It's not too salty and sublimely flavored and coated with a thin oily texture that only the best smoked fish can pull off. And it smells lovely. And it dissolves in your mouth. Oh crap, I'm getting the drools.

Whoops, pardon me...The dish is actually called "Blue Crab Benedict." To hell with fighting for a reservation on the night of the 14th...Take your valentine to breakfast instead and spend the rest of the day in bed. Okay, so Blue Crab Benedict is only available on the weekend, but any breakfast or lunch at the PDC is the most romantic thing you can imagine. It's one of L.A.'s oldest restaurants and the experience shows...It's dark and romantic with killer cocktails, great wine, gracious decor and the best service in the city (see if Rodney's working and you'll get some memorable chat as well.) Plus, even if you show up in cut-offs and Keds, you'll be treated like royalty. And the PDC is open 24 hours a day. There is no other restaurant like this in L.A. It's one of the only things I miss about living in that f*ck!ng hell-hole.

Oh my Lord..I can taste it now. And the pork chops are juicy but not greasy and the eggs are just the way I ordered them and I loved every bite.

It's the specialty of the house and deservedly so. Anything that comes out of the Wood Ovens of the Trader is a succulent treat, but this is the best of the best. If you're on a budget, split it. And if you don't order it medium rare you don't deserve to eat it.
