Green Chile Pork Taco at Torchy's Taco's

This is easily one of the best tacos I've ever had. The well-seasoned pork is set of so nicely by the queso fresco and cilantro. The double corn tortillas is a plus as well. Definitely work the trip to the trailer for this one.

Tartare of Pacific Ahi at Eddie V's Edgewater Grille

301 E 5th St, Austin, TX
(512) 472-1860

Everything about the dish, from the presentation to the range of flavors is perfect. The sushi-grade tuna is tossed in light dressing of sesame and curry oils, that don’t weigh it down but give it nice warmth you feel in the very back of your throat. The sliced avocado and citrus fruits offer a cool counterpoint to the heat of the oils and complimentary textures for the tuna. Pile a bit of everything onto the sesame crisps and the combination is delightful.

Breakfast Taco at Taco Shack

4002 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX
(512) 467-8533

These are my regular Friday breakfast and even when I'm not driving into downtown to work I'll still drive to 38th and Lamar to get my chorizo, egg, and cheese tacos. The eggs are fresh, the chorizo crispy, and the cheese plentiful. What's more, the staff at every Taco Shack I've ever been to have been fantastic. No matter how rushed or crazy things are they are efficient and polite. Gotta love home-grown businesses.

Crispy Wild Boar Ribs at Lamberts

401 W 2nd St, Austin, TX, 78701

These little ribs are just spectacular. The sauce is spicy but still lets the flavor of the boar come through. The dish name is right on: the meat is crispy on the outside but still tender once you take a bite. A must try for anyone visiting Lambert's for the first time.

Pom Secco at Blue Star Cafeteria

This has replaced the mimosa as my favorite Sunday morning brunch drink. The sugar around the rim of the glass is such a nice touch. Try it with the Eggs Benedict for a great start to a weekend morning.
